Topics For The Home Stretch

Kindergarten - We will be reviewing topics that we have covered since the beginning of the year (i.e. using back and forward arrows, closing out of programs, mouse skills and locating letters on the keyboard).

First Grade - We are finishing up correct sentence formatting in Google Docs. 

Second Grade - We are beginning internet safety.  We are using netsmartz kids to recognize some of the dangers associated with using the internet and focusing on ways to stay safe from those dangers.

Third Grade - We are working on a using key words to search the internet to locate information.

Fourth Grade - We will be starting Google Slides lessons.  Students will be able to create a presentation about themselves to present to the class.

Fifth & Sixth Grade - We are starting lessons on coding.  Students will be introduced to coding for video and computer games.  They will complete activities that are directly related to video game developers and the process they use to create video games.

New Topics for April

Kindergarten -  students will begin to locate letters and numbers on the keyboard using a program called Dance Mat Typing

First Grade - students are working on printing a document from Google Docs that incorporates inserting a picture and changing the size, style and color of text

Second Grade - students are listening to stories on storylineonline and answering questions, in complete sentences, using Google Docs

Third Grade - students are learning how to use a web browser and all of its tools (back and forward arrows, bookmarks, refresh button, search bar vs address bar and how to use key words)

Fourth Grade - students are learning how to use a web browser and all of its tools (back and forward arrows, bookmarks, refresh button, search bar vs address bar and how to use key words)

Fifth Grade - students are finishing up Google Slide presentations and are going to be sharing with their classmates over the next couple of classes

Sixth Grade - students will be using Google Sheets to create spreadsheets and charts

New Topics In Computer Class

Kindergarten - We will be practicing using the back and forward arrows while we navigate around NSE Spartans and Starfall.

First Grade - We are entering the final class of our typing program.  Up next for first grade will be Google Docs.

Second Grade - We will be practicing typing using correct spacing, capital letters and special keys on the keyboard (use of the shift key).

Third Grade - We are starting internet safety.  We will discuss all of the different types of people that surf the web and how to stay safe while using the internet.

Fourth Grade - We are starting internet safety.  We will discuss all of the different types of people that surf the web and how to stay safe while using the internet.

Fifth Grade - We will be starting Google Slides.  Students will be giving presentations to their classmates in the coming weeks.

Sixth Grade - We will begin giving presentations next week using Google Slides.  Next up is Google Sheets.

Kindergarten - We will be working on using NSE Spartans and all the links and websites it offers.  While using NSE Spartans students will practice using the back and forward arrows and the minimize and maximize buttons on the browser.

First Grade - We are finishing up Dance Mat typing lessons.  We have level 3 stages 7, 8 and 9 left to complete.

Second Grade - We are starting Google Docs lessons.  The students will be learning how to utilize the tools Google Docs has to offer and will learn how to create, save and share a document.

Third Grade - We are starting Google Docs lessons.  The students will be learning how to utilize the tools Google Docs has to offer and will learn how to create, save and share a document.

Fourth Grade - We are starting Google Docs lessons.  The students will be learning how to utilize the tools Google Docs has to offer and will learn how to create, save and share a document.
